KIDS
How does Active Bodies Active Minds work?
It’s simple!
Go to the Summer Reading and
Summer Fitness Page each month
this summer (June, July, and August) to download and print that
month’s reading log and fitness log. Each log has a different
monthly goal for you to meet (or beat!).
Use the reading lists to choose a book, or find a book on your
own that you think you’ll enjoy. Then, choose several activities
from the fitness list that you’d like to try. Talk to a
parent or guardian about the books and activities that you’ve
selected. They may have suggestions too!
Use the logs to track the time that you spend reading and exercising.
At the end of each month, tally your time and see if you meet
(or beat) the goal. Then, have a parent or guardian sign your
logs, and be sure to keep them in a safe place!
After you complete the program, come back to the site to register
for your chance to win a session at The David Beckham Academy!
Have fun this summer and enjoy the adventures that lie ahead.
We know that you can achieve your goals!

Parents
-
Help your children get started by finding the reading
log and the fitness log
and the reading and fitness lists. The reading lists include
grade-level appropriate suggestions to help your children
find new books to read, while the fitness list provides fun
ideas to help keep them active during the summer months.
You are your children's most important coach. Encourage them
to read and get plenty of exercise, and help them track their
progress during the summer with the reading and fitness logs.
Ask questions about the books they're reading, help them find
new books, and even get outside and kick around the soccer
ball! To learn how you can become your children's most supportive
coach and biggest fan, visit the Parent’s
Page for more information on summer learning and summer fitness.
And most importantly, have fun!
